“My dad used to tell us that it didn’t matter who he was outside the house—we still had to earn everything we wanted,” Paris revealed. Michael wanted his children to understand the value of hard work and repeatedly reminded them that fame and money shouldn’t determine how they treated other people.
She remembered that even simple rewards weren’t automatically handed to them. If the children wanted a particular toy or special privilege, their father would sometimes give them small tasks or encourage them to read and learn something first.
