For several days, a homeowner noticed a powerful, unpleasant smell spreading through one room of his house. The damaged section of wall had to remain open while the entire area was professionally treated and cleaned. Cracks and entry points were then sealed to reduce the chance of another infestation developing. What initially seemed like an unexplained household smell ultimately exposed thousands of unwanted inhabitants living only inches away—and the homeowner never ignored a mysterious odor in his house again.
