A young woman found herself in serious trouble after authorities discovered her in a restricted wildlife area late one evening. She had entered the property despite several warning signs and wandered deep into an area where deer were frequently seen. What initially appeared to be simple trespassing became far stranger when officers learned why she had gone there.
According to the account she later gave, she had been secretly approaching wild deer for weeks, leaving food for them and attempting to get close enough to touch them. She believed one particular deer had become comfortable around her and began returning almost every evening. That night, she crossed a barrier and followed the animal farther into the protected area.
A wildlife officer eventually spotted her dangerously close to the deer and ordered her to move away. The animal became startled and ran, while the woman was detained for questioning. Officers explained that approaching and feeding wildlife could put both humans and animals at risk, particularly when animals begin associating people with food.
The woman admitted that she knew visitors weren’t supposed to cross the barrier but said she never intended to hurt the animal. Her repeated visits, however, had already attracted attention from workers who had noticed food being left in the same location. She was cited for entering the restricted area and warned not to return outside permitted public access.
The strange incident ended without anyone being injured, but it became a lesson she wouldn’t soon forget. What she considered a harmless connection with a wild deer had led her into a prohibited area and ultimately into custody. After being released, she agreed to stay away and observe wildlife only from a safe and legal distance.
