It was a perfectly normal school morning. The class was quiet, students hunched over their desks, pencils scratching away as the teacher explained the lesson. Little Johnny sat innocently in his chair, trying his best to look focused. Then, without warning, it happened. A loud fart echoed through the classroom, unmistakable and impossible to ignore. For a split second, there was silence — and then the entire room exploded with laughter.
The teacher was furious. She slammed her book shut, glared straight at Johnny, and pointed toward the door. “That is completely inappropriate! Go outside this instant!” she shouted. Johnny stood up, trying and failing to keep a straight face, and shuffled out into the hallway. The moment the door closed behind him, he lost it completely. He slid down the wall and sat on the floor, laughing harder than he ever had in his life.
A few minutes later, the principal happened to walk by and saw Johnny sitting in the hallway, laughing so hard he was wiping tears from his eyes. Confused, the principal stopped and asked calmly, “Little Johnny, why are you sitting outside your classroom laughing like that?”
Johnny took a deep breath, trying to compose himself. “Well, sir,” he said, still giggling, “I farted in class, and the teacher kicked me out.”
The principal frowned. “And why do you find that funny?”
Johnny grinned from ear to ear and replied, “Because they’re all still stuck in there smelling it… and I’m out here enjoying the fresh air.”
The principal paused for a moment, trying not to laugh himself, then shook his head and continued down the hall — silently admitting that Johnny might just be smarter than everyone thought.
