3-INGREDIENT AIR FRYER GRILLED CHEESE — SO GOOD WE MAKE IT FOUR TIMES A WEEK

Some recipes don’t need tricks, trends, or long ingredient lists. They just need to work. This is one of those. Simple, crispy, melty, and impossible to resist — it’s the grilled cheese that keeps getting requested again and again. In our house, it’s become a habit. The kind you don’t fight because everyone is happy when it shows up on the plate.

What makes this version special is how effortless it is. No pan to watch. No flipping at the wrong moment. The air fryer does all the work, giving you perfectly golden bread and gooey cheese every single time. It’s fast enough for busy days and comforting enough to feel like a treat.

You only need three ingredients. Bread. Cheese. Butter. That’s it. Thick slices of bread work best because they crisp on the outside while staying soft inside. For the cheese, use something that melts well — cheddar, mozzarella, American, or a mix if you want extra stretch. Butter brings everything together, adding flavor and helping the bread brown evenly.

To make it, butter one side of each slice of bread. Place cheese between the unbuttered sides, forming a sandwich. Put the sandwich in the air fryer basket, buttered side facing out. Cook at around 180°C (350°F) for a few minutes, flip once, and cook until both sides are golden and the cheese is fully melted. Cooking time may vary slightly depending on your air fryer, but it’s usually done in under 10 minutes.

The result is exactly what you want. Crunchy edges. Warm, stretchy cheese that pulls apart when you lift it. No grease pooling. No burnt spots. Just a clean, satisfying grilled cheese that tastes like comfort food done right.

It’s the kind of recipe you start making “once in a while” and suddenly realize you’re making it several times a week. Because when something is this easy and this good, there’s no reason not to.
