In fact, it was simply a large moth or beetle pupa that had found a sheltered place to complete its transformation into an adult insect. During this stage, many pupae look soft, shiny, and almost unrecognizable, which explains why they can be so startling to find indoors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It definitely gave us a scare, but in the end it turned into an interesting reminder of how strange nature can be.
