I used to think my grandma was stingy. Every time the family went out to eat, she stayed home. She\u2019d smile, wave us off, and say she wasn\u2019t hungry. As a kid, I didn\u2019t question it. As a teenager, I judged it. I thought she didn\u2019t want to spend money, that she preferred saving every cent instead of enjoying life with us. After she passed away, the house felt emptier than I expected. We sorted through her things slowly, finding old photos, folded letters, and memories we hadn\u2019t touched in years. A few days after the funeral, a woman I didn\u2019t recognize knocked on our door. She was crying before she even spoke. Her voice shook as she asked if we were my grandma\u2019s family.
