A husband came home one evening and found his wife sitting on the edge of the bed, crying uncontrollably. Papers were scattered on the floor, and her face was red from sobbing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019ve been insulted,\u201d she cried. \u201cYour mother insulted me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMy mother?\u201d he said, shocked. \u201cThat\u2019s impossible. She lives in a different city.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI know,\u201d the wife sniffed. \u201cBut she sent me a letter.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The husband picked it up, confused, and asked, \u201cWell\u2026 what did she say?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His wife wiped her tears and read aloud:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDear Daughter-in-law,
I\u2019m sorry to hear you\u2019re not feeling well. I\u2019ll never forget the day my son married you. I knew right away you weren\u2019t good enough for him \u2014 but I hoped time would prove me wrong. Sadly, it hasn\u2019t. Please remember, I raised him better than this.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The husband stared at the letter in disbelief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThat\u2019s awful,\u201d he said. \u201cI can\u2019t believe she wrote that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
